CHARACTER INTERVIEW WITH ANGEL OF DARK GALALEE.

I would like to take a moment to announce that the head angel of Dark/ness Galalee will be joining us today, but because of his inability to cross into the human realm and my inability to hear into the spirit realm, he will be conversing via our translator Anny.
“He has arrived.” The witch Anny announces.
“Good.” I respond and then beam a smile. “Good morning.”
“You call this- morning? Try teaching fledgeling flight clases. If you don’t wake up before dawn and get to the training cloud before those little rebels are up they start Kamikaze-ing from the fully fledged angels jump clouds.” I turn from the empty space I assume Galalee has adopted between myself and Anny, and give her an encouraging smile. She’s doing well relaying our messages so far, like a spiritual linguist. I turn back to the empty space to direct my question, blocking out Anny but not her words, so as to concentrate on the invisible angel himself. If I’m lucky and stare hard enough I might just catch a glimpse of- I shake myself back to reality, blushing a little as I pose another question.
“You take your job very seriously?”
“Of course.” His tone adopts a depth of severity and I can imagine his brows furrowing. “I’m a flying instructor. Our fledglings are our future and I am honoured to be in a position of such importance.”
“Is that why you chose not to become your fathers successor?”
“Ah, all that paperwork and butt-kissing, not to mention the dirty work. It’s really not my style, no I prefer to be the head of the angels of darkness, or dark if you prefer. The wording only matters if Xander is replaced as an angel of death for his and my duties are as charged by our father.”
“Do you envy Xander?”
“Nah, he can keep all that, I’ll keep my duties and my promise to help him with his duties whenever the occasion arrives that he may need my services as a brother or friend. Besides,” He added flippantly, “females love an angel who looks after fledgelings- right?” I could imagine the sultry smile spreading along his handsome face as his chocolate coated words unwittingly aroused a stream of sensual shivers through my spine. My cheeks heated as I searched through my fragmented mind for my next question.
“What is your favorite hobby?”
“Cloud pool. I recently won the tournament cup, beat Xander and all.” I imagined his laugh was mellow as he spoke. “We had a few pints of moon beer after that.”
I gave an indulgent smile to the air before me, taxing my brain as to why I couldn’t even make out his figure in the spirit realm even though I wholeheartedly believed in it- after all, I am interviewing an angel.
“Ok, so what’s the story behind your name?”
“Ok well, the story behind my name is a simple one. Like most of my fathers children, my mother named me. She was a simple woman with gorgeous midnight hair and doey brown eyes, much like mine.” I could sense the smile in his words. “She didn’t have much in the way of possessions. Well, not many servants did in the 1700’s.”
My mouth fell open.
“He’s laughing.” Anny announced as I squinted hard, convinced I saw a ripple in the air.
“Anyway,” she continued translating. “The Stewards generally cared more about the wealthy as most societies seem to do. But I always checked on her from time to time. (without father noticing of course, or else I would have been sent to perish in the darkest corner of Row). A devoted soul such as she was, my mother named me Galalee- from the bible and not being a woman of education, she spelt it -uniquely.
“Okay, let me interrupt you there for a second- what is Row and isn’t Galalee a girl’s name?”
Anny chuckled conspiringly at Galalee before translating for me. “For Death’s sake- I forget you are only human. Row is a destination in Death’s caverns where he sends souls he wishes to perish slowly through the most unimaginable suffering your human mind can imagine.”
“Ah, nowhere we want on our holiday destinations then.” I chuckled nervously.
“No. and as for a girl’s name, your implications are astute, my mother was expecting a girl upon the word of a gypsy traveller who spoke of future sight. But plainly she was mistaken. Even so, it was too late, my mother had already fallen in love with the name. Any more questions little human- I have duties to attend to?”
Anny raised a slender brow at me in question.
“Ok, last one- how old are you?”
“I’ll let you work that out.” The witch relayed, sighing as she concluded “he’s gone.”
“Ok, well there you have it folks- Galalee angel of dark has left my office!”
Hearts and kisses
